Phoenix Marine performed epoxy and concrete pile encasements to restore structural integrity and extend the service life of Piers 2 and 5 at Brooklyn Bridge Park. As the general contractor, Phoenix Marine completed pile and deck rehabilitation at these piers, located in Brooklyn, New York. The scope of work included the installation of preventative epoxy and structural concrete pile encasements on over 6,600 piles, along with 2,100 square feet of structural underdeck repairs.
Given the project’s location along the Buttermilk Channel in the East River, construction staging operations were not permitted on the pier decks, as Brooklyn Bridge Park remained an active public facility throughout the project. To accommodate these restrictions, all work was conducted from barges, including operations along the edge of the Buttermilk Channel. Phoenix Marine coordinated all construction activities in compliance with U.S. Coast Guard regulations.
