The work Included bulkhead construction and rehabilitation, riprap revetment and boat ramp construction, scour protection, drainage systems, earthwork, concrete foundations, grading, paving, and masonry.
The bulkhead work included installation of a steel sheet pile bulkhead, a deadman tie back system, and concrete cap. Other work included selective demolition of the pile supported structure of Pier 1 platform to allow for the construction of a salt marsh and to provide access to the water for recreation. Brooklyn Bridge Park is the most significant park development in Brooklyn since Prospect Park was built in 1867.
